"A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at." - Bruce Lee
Whether we like it or not, January is the first month of a new year, a beginning. If something has begun, then we certainly can assume another thing has ended. Lets walk together into 2015 and take a look at who we were and where we traveled.
If you are anything like me, I tend to “look away” from the past and continue to charge forward, sometimes blindly, other times with a set course. My resistance to looking back has everything to do with self-acceptance, or rather a lack thereof.
Taking a look at where I have traveled both physically and more so emotionally. What measures personal growth? Content-ness? Pride? Body weight? Status Quo?
I mean, really, how do you measure your success?
What goals had you set and met? How do you feel now compared to the last 12 months? How do you feel emotionally, in your heart and soul? Had you considered your inner feelings when setting those high standards?
I get this tight feeling in my neck and chest when I set out on the quest to measure my annual progress. I mean, shit; now I have to see that perhaps I am not a size 8 like I had planned. I do not live in a new house as planned. My children are still not sleeping through the night in their own beds… as planned.
So what exactly did I accomplish?
Sometimes goals are only a fraction of the resources we have to measure our personal growth. I want to go deeper and look at the most important things -people, feelings, health, self-love and overall satisfaction in daily life.
"Feeling good increases your flexibility, resiliency, effectiveness and magnetism." -Danielle LaPorte in the Desire Map
Forget the goals that guilt us into shame. Forget the goals that are all about gloss. What you really wanted was to FEEL amazing, satisfied, proud, energetic and maybe even perhaps you wanted to feel HAPPY. Just maybe.
How did you feel over the last year?
How do you feel right now?
How do you want to feel? –There, that’s your new goal.
I use a variety of resources to help me discover my inner desires and guide me to the elusive and enigmatic “happy place”.
1. Meditation and aura healing (clearing limits, be you in high vibration)
2. Vision boards (to physically manifest)
3. Desire mapping (finding goals with soul)
4. Prosperous budgeting (affording all of it)
This week Pete and I are creating our vision boards for this quarter. We have set aside an entire week since our lives are quite busy tending to work, kids and domestic stuff.
We have created an impressive budget-plan to help fuel our plans and the desire mapping will be underway next week. And of course we do weekly if not daily clearing meditations.
Clearing your energy before you make plans or goals is integral. Seriously. Get grounded first, then set forth to connect your plans and your heart’s desires.
You. Are. Brilliant.
You are important. You are unique. You live a privileged life, with more access to more things and resources than has ever been imagined in human history. What you do with all this is your choice. As you heal your past wounds and limitations you set the way, pave the road and live by example for all others to feel and be their best. The best YOU, the individual, is helping the whole of us.
Heal yourself to heal the world. It’s a ripple effect. So I should recommend a very important step: SHARE yourself!
The world needs your brilliance baby.
